REVENANCE

This album provides closure for a significant era in Albert's most expressive arc to date.

Culminating its predecessors' (AITS & C4J), this record fully embraces a directly story-centric listening experience. Having matured since the two previous EPs, this album offers significantly more ambitious traits while still focusing on the consistent charm held in Albert's signature acoustic palette, defined over the past year. To me, this album's strong suit lies heavily in its vocal performance, with the second half of "Failed Human Being" heavily relying on its vocals to keep listeners engaged.

Taking influence from its precursors, the tracklist comprises both reinterpretations derived from the former EPs alongside entirely new material. These choices complement each other excellently and provide the listener with a much broader story in comparison to earlier works. Furthermore, the narrative told throughout the album can serve as an optional expansion to the world-building depicted on the previous EPs while still offering a detached story for new listeners.

As it stands, this album exemplifies a heavy concept of maturing, utilizing leitmotifs as a way of rewriting past events. May the future hold many more things to work on as big and small Abby problems ensue...
